FAQs
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a therapy based on the science of how people learn and behave. It helps children with autism build important skills—like communication, social interaction, and daily routines—while reducing challenging behaviors. ABA uses positive reinforcement and personalized strategies to help each child grow and succeed in everyday life.
ABA therapy is typically provided by a team including Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs).
ABA therapy is most commonly used for individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Sessions vary based on the individual’s goals but often include structured activities, play-based learning, and skill-building through repetition and reinforcement.
Treatment programs typically range from 15-40 hours per week of direct care depending upon the child’s needs. The prescribed hours are based on what your BCBA determines is medically necessary for your child to make progress and insurance authorization. Your child’s plan and the recommended hours will be reviewed with your family. Hours generally decrease as the client progresses in independence and generalizes behavioral changes to other critical settings.
