Autism Services Covered Under Texas Law
Under Texas law, state regulated plans must cover the following services for children with ASD:
- Diagnosis of ASD
- Therapeutic services for children with ASD, including ABA Therapy, Speech Therapy, Physical Therapy, etc.
Texas HHS
The Texas Health and Human Services department provides ABA services through local community agencies.
The treatment is limited to 180 hours within a 12-month period with a maximum of 720 hours during your child’s lifetime. Your child is eligible for treatment through the Autism Program if:
- A documented diagnosis of autism is made by a qualified professional
- Your child is 3 to 15 years old
- Your child is a Texas resident
